May newsletter

May was incredibly busy for the team. We haven’t dropped a new expansion yet, and we haven’t revealed the new mode — but if you’re reading this from Discord, you already know what we were busy with. The creator program landed with much more reception than we expected. A balance patch went out mid-month. Battle Pass 14 is running, Battle Pass 15 is being prepared in QA, and June is going to be a big month.

The creator program pilot exceeded our expectations

We’ve been talking about rebuilding a proper creator program for a while. This month we were finally able to. We knew there was a community of people already making deckbuilding videos and ranked content, so it was the perfect timing for us to restart the program at a more manageable scale.

What we didn’t expect was the volume. Applications tripled between week one and week three. We’ve onboarded a first wave and we’re working through it carefully — content delivered has been exceptional especially around ‘new player guides’. We do want to remind interested creators that applications are closed for now.

If you’re a creator who heard about it after the window shut, message Vesper or GUApe on Discord. We’re tracking interest for the next intake and we’d rather hear from you directly than miss you.

What we shipped

A balance patch went out mid-month — a smaller follow-up to April’s, mostly tightening a handful of cards that were quietly dominating match outcomes more than we’d intended.

Battle Pass 14 kicked off in early May with a new season across both Collector and Whale tracks. If you’re grinding it, you know the shape of it already. If you’re not — there’s still time, but not as much as you’d think.

The Imporium kept its weekly cadence. A new card every Tuesday, available for seven days, then gone. We like the rhythm. You should too.

What’s next

The next expansion is closer than the calendar suggests. We can’t name it yet or give you a date, but we’ve been deep in final balance testing, the storyline is settled, and the announcement is coming. Conquest mode is also continuing to take shape. We’ve been playing the build internally and it’s starting to feel like the mode we’ve been describing.

Looking ahead

June brings the announcement of the next set, the launch of Battle Pass 15, and the first proper look at Conquest. There’s a lot of work converging in the same window, and we’re aiming to land it well rather than fast.
