Game Update 0.32 – Delving DeeperUpdate 0.32 – Delving Deeper is a small but important update addressing some underlying aspects of the game. The star of this release is a critical update to the Delve mechanic, with some additional stability work under the hood for good measure.
Fixing Delve
In a world before 0.32, playing two subsequent cards with Delve effects could cause the game to lock up, resulting in the turn timer arrow not flipping over to the opponent’s turn. This is now fixed. Player reports play a critical role in identifying and addressing these. If you notice any new issues, please use the in-game bug reporter where you can. Most issues relating to Delve are resolved with Update 0.32, though there is a small set involving Void interactions that will be addressed in a future stability release.
Clarifying Error Messages
We’ve made good progress on some of the work that we first started in Update 0.31, and have fixed an issue that was causing errors during the loading screen to not display the full popup message correctly for error G320. This has been corrected and will now be much easier to read and understand.
Server Stability Improvements
On occasions, the server would sometimes fail to load players’ card decks which could cause a server-side crash. That’s a thing of the past; you’ll now be able to load into games with even greater stability than ever before.
A Fix of Mythical Proportions
The Trial of the Gods Mythic Card,Citadel of the Gods, has aninteresting mechanic, but in testing it wasn’t working as intended. The opponent wasn’t able to use the relic equipped by the card’s gameplay effect. This has now been resolved and all players will be able to use the Champion’s relics as intended. No one ownsCitadel of the Godsyet, so keep an eye out for theupcoming Mythic Drawto be in with your chance to win this one-of-a-kind card!
Known Issue: Special Characters
An eagle-eyed playerfrom our subreddithelped us to identify an issue that was causing error message G400 to show up for some players. Using certain special characters in your Gods Unchained username, such as “Ö/ö” or “Ü/ü”, could cause the loading screen to get stuck at ‘Retrieving Session Config’. If you find that you are running into this issue, this may be the cause! We’ll be looking to address this in a future update.Game Update 0.31 – Picking up the pace!Update 0.31 – Picking Up the Pace!adds some quality of life improvements to the game. This release addresses some animation changes from 0.30, as well as further improvements to message boxes within the launcher and the game.
At Full Throttle
After the release of the previous update, Update 0.30, we noticed that the attack animation of Creatures within the game had slowed significantly. With 0.31, the tween curves have been manually restored. This means that the feel and motion of previous attack animations should now be back to normal!
Extra Work on Disconnections
Sometimes, when players disconnected from the internet during the games loading screen or had other issues occur, no error message would be prompted and they would be stuck infinitely loading. We’ve now corrected this, and the error prompt will now appear as intended. In addition, the team has tweaked some settings which mean that game results will record now if the game reaches God Power selection. This means that players will receive losses if they concede beyond this point in attempts to dodge other players.
Proper Alignment
And finally, some of our previous releases had unintended flow-on effects to our tutorial, causing some message boxes to become unaligned. We have corrected these so that now they’re appearing in the right places.Game Update 0.30 – Stability now!Update 0.30 – Stability Now! furthers work on game stability. This release builds on the groundwork laid in 0.29 to stabilize matches, bug fixes, disconnects, and the Sanctum.
A return to form
In the past week, the Sanctum has adopted a temporary guise: the Spell Sanctum. All Sanctum spells that targeted creatures have been replaced with non-targeting spells. This made for some interesting place over the weekend – but nothing that could rival the Sanctum’s natural state. This change is a temporary fix to ensure we had a healthy and stable Weekend Ranked event, but behind the scenes our devs were wielding their holy maces, smiting the issues that corrupted the Sanctum with righteous fury.0.30 solves these issues, and work can now be done to get the Sanctum back in a good place. The Spell Sanctum will remain active for the upcoming Weekend Ranked event, but we aim to shift the original decks back into the Sanctum in the next few weeks.
Improved disconnects
In the past, disconnects have been confusing and unwieldy. We’ve upgraded our system to better identify these instances, providing a variety of notifications to let you know what happened to your game, as well as being more clear when your ranked progress won’t be altered due to an error. What’s more, soft locks (where objects in the game are still able to be interacted with but you are unable to proceed with a match) will now disconnect you from the server, allowing you to get into the next game quicker without repercussions.
Show your flair on Discord
ForDiscordusers, we now have Rich Presence for Gods Unchained, meaning other mortals can see when you are playing Gods Unchained, as well as which domain you are playing (using the badges below). You don’t need to do anything to use this feature, as it’s automatic, updating your status to display when you are playing the game. If you are looking to hide your playstyle from future Direct Challenge opponents, you can easily turn this feature off from your personal Discord account settings.

Fixes
On top of this update’s fixes, the in-game bug reporter tool has had an upgrade. Now you can select the most recent card you’ve played when filing a bug report in game. This helps us immensely as we are given greater context into what caused an issue, and our system’s process for sorting these issues has been streamlined too. We’ve also upgraded our testing process, with new automated tests that will help catch bugs before we push live.If you experience any bugs, please continue to report them by clicking the bug icon in the top right of the game screen.Bug Fixes:
- Board-wide effects no longer have a chance of disconnecting users playing on Mac.
- Each god’s death animation will now activate at the end of a game without fail.
- Resolved an issue that caused tooltips to occasionally duplicate.
- Purchasing and using a spell from the Sanctum in the same turn will no longer have a chance of freezing the game.
Known Issues:
- The opponent’s mana pip is sometimes hidden during the opponent’s turn, but remains visible during your own turn.
- Cards in the opponent’s hand appear slightly tilted.
