Battle Pass 18: The Veil Thins

Battle Pass 18 is live from September 11 through October 9, and it's the spookiest cosmetic lineup we've put together in a while — plus something we've never done before: a Conquest Ticket, sitting inside a Battle Pass for the first time.

What's in the Season

We leaned all the way into the season this time. The god portrait is Death, reimagined as something clawing its way back up — purple light leaking out of cracked skin, the kind of wrong we were going for on purpose. Death's always been about decay and erosion in this game, and a zombie is just decay with somewhere to be. It felt obvious once someone said it out loud in the design channel, and then we couldn't unsee it.

The card back carries the season's actual look — a crescent moon on a dark field, gold filigree, small stars scattered like something out of a tarot deck. It's the piece we'd point to if you asked “what's Battle Pass 18 about” without saying a word.

Two new emotes: one's a zombie, hands out, “brains” — no notes, it does exactly what it says. The other is a witch cat holding a fanned hand of moon cards, and yes, we know exactly how good that one is. We are not sorry.

Rounding it out: a Mana Wheel wrapped in violet fire, and two card treatments — Stygian Collector and Bedeviled Shadow — each with a Shadow tier and a rarer Diamond tier for the Whale track.

Conquest Comes to the Battle Pass

Here's the one we're actually excited about. Conquest launched in July as its own standalone mode — paid entry, five-game runs, rank 10 and up. It was never going to stay siloed from everything else forever, and Battle Pass 18 is the first place the two systems actually touch: the Whale track includes a Conquest Ticket.

If you've been climbing toward rank 10 with Conquest as the goal, this is one more door into it that didn't exist in any pass before this one. Conquest needed a way to reach players who hadn't found their way into the queue yet, and the Battle Pass already reaches everyone engaged enough to be grinding a season. Connecting them was the obvious move once we looked at it that way.
